The Française Des Jeux commissioned this project to be a climbing game for their first casual game. It is not gambling as the society use to and is designed for occasional players.
Available on both iOS and Android, the player is required to quickly draw symbols on the screen to progress. Be mindful of the weather conditions and the different mountain animals!
The game was developed in close collaboration with James Bang Company, which was responsible for managing the project, and Isobaras the art director and game producer.
Procedurally creating mountains posed a significant challenge. The game features an asynchronous multiplayer component that required the capability to generate identical mountains for different players using a seed, which is a type of identification number.
The multiplayer component operates using a serverless architecture, which allows to build and run applications and services without the need to manage infrastructure. We used Google Firebase which also applied to dynamically balance the game: all gameplay parameters are obtained from the Firebase database. In addition, we managed various mobile services, including iCloud, Game Center, Google Play Games, Facebook Connect, push and local notifications.
