NKMK is an online educational video game designed for middle school students and the general public who want to better understand today’s challenges related to industry, consumption, and the ecological transition.
In this management and decision-making game, players take on the role of Sonya, the CEO of a fictional sneaker company. They must make a series of strategic decisions with economic, social, and environmental consequences: choosing materials, organizing production, training teams, responding to crises, and designing new models.

The gameplay is built around several key mechanics:
16 indicators structure a triple-impact economy (financial, social, and environmental) and help measure the consequences of each decision.
A sustainability score out of 100 evaluates the company’s overall performance in terms of sustainable development.
16 industrial professions embodied by characters with whom players interact help them discover the realities of the professional world.

Sneaker design lies at the heart of the experience. Players can create thousands of different models, evaluated according to criteria such as comfort, durability, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
A session lasts about one hour, corresponding to ten years of management in fictional time. The game can be used independently or collectively, projected in a classroom, paused at any time, and compared between groups.

This game offers a concrete way to explore the core professions and processes of industry, the major principles of the circular economy, the interactions between industrial activity, the environment, and society, as well as the mechanisms of decision-making and responsibility.

This project is part of the France 2030 Program - Territories of Innovation, overseen by the General Secretariat for Investment. As part of the Lyon Metropolitan Authority’s digital education policy and the Digital Industrial Cultural Classes program (CCNI, 2020–2025), this educational game was produced by Erasme.
For use in schools, it is accompanied by a teacher’s kit developed in partnership with the Réseau Canopé, making it easier to integrate into teaching.
