A Blind Legend, the first action-adventure and audio-only game was downloaded over 200,000 times in less than 10 days after its release and has since reached over one million downloads. It has made a significant impact on indie video games and notably won a Ping Awards with a special mention from the jury.
Designed by Dowino and co-produced by Radio France, the game took over a year to develop from initial prototypes to release. Our team was responsible for programming the game, including game design tools, level design, menu navigation, exploration, and combat systems.
This is a great adventure, engaging and full of twists. The audio mixing is excellent, making it a brilliantly original game that requires concentration and skill. It allows the audience to engage in imaginative work that becomes captivating.
To create a more immersive and realistic audio experience, we used a 3D audio spatializer engine to mix the sound effects.
The game uses a 3D audio engine to spatialize sound effects. The result is similar to binaural recording, but with realtime processing (learn more here). A Blind Legend was also designed as the first visually impaired mobile game.
The game is also accessible on PC and Mac through the Steam platform. The team comprised more than twenty individuals, including sound designers, actors, game designers, and level designers.
